FAQs

Can the EAP613 be used without a controller?
Yes. Omada EAPs can work independently as standalone access points or be centrally managed by an Omada Controller, and in standalone mode they can be configured via the Omada app or a web browser.

Does the Omada Controller need to keep running after configuration?
Authenticated wireless clients can continue to work if the controller goes offline, but newly connecting clients using portal authentication cannot be authenticated, and reboot and upgrade schedules will not take effect. Mesh networking does not require the controller to keep running.

What is the recommended Ethernet cable for powering the EAP613 over PoE?
TP-Link suggests Cat5e or above. For standard PoE the recommended cable length is under 100 metres, and for passive PoE it is under 60 metres.
