Power over Ethernet (PoE) Powered Cameras
If you are looking for a flexible and cost-effective security system that delivers 24/7 indoor or outdoor surveillance, why not consider Reolink’s popular PoE camera range? PoE cameras are a type of network or IP-based security camera that leverage Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology. Ethernet cables are specifically designed to carry power and data over distances up to 100 meters (328 feet).
By using the same cable to transmit both power and data, PoE cameras streamline the entire installation process, whilst simultaneously boosting connectivity and centralising power management. This makes them an effective, reliable, and scalable modern security solution.
Who is it for?
Our suite of Reolink PoE cameras can be used in both residential and commercial security applications. The product offering spans multiple series, all of which are equipped with different features to suit your specific requirements, such as motion detection, dynamic range imaging, digital noise reduction and high-definition clarity, ColorX and night vision capabilities.
PoE editions of the Duo and TrackMix range deliver dual-tracking and high-definition resolution, ensuring you do not miss a single event. PoE-enabled RLC and CX bullet cameras can be deployed in various locations without worrying about nearby power outlets.

Highlights
Cheap and Simple: PoE is the ultimate plug-and-play solution. Installation is seamless and flexible - it only uses one cable for both data and power, eliminating the need for serious infrastructure upgrades and electrical wiring.
Flexibility: some Reolink PoE models offer two-way audio, enabling users to communicate with people captured by the camera.
Connectivity: PoE devices facilitate easy network deployment and utilise fewer resources due to Ethernet connectivity. This accelerates data transmission and can be faster than a wireless option.
Scalability: upgrade your PoE infrastructure to accommodate additional devices or support higher power requirements.
Energy efficiency: PoE devices typically consume less power than non-PoE cameras, making them more energy efficient.
Secure: PoE transmits data via one cable that cannot be attacked unless there is a direct, wired connection.
Centralised power management: the ethernet cable charges whilst transmitting, ensuring the camera will continue to record without needing to charge or change a battery.
PoE network video recorder (NVR) connection: These cameras can be directly connected to a PoE NVR which, once connected to a router, offers instant connectivity.
Additional Notes
Your PoE camera should use a CAT5 or higher-category Ethernet cable and be connected a router that supports PoE.
In cases when your router doesn’t support PoE or you require multiple connections, you will need to add or increase Power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities using a PoE injector or PoE switch.
