The TP-Link EAP787 is a BE12000 ceiling mount tri-band Wi-Fi 7 access point from the Omada range, positioned by TP-Link as the flagship of its ceiling mount access points. Designed to get the most from Wi-Fi 7, the EAP787 combines tri-band 8-stream wireless, a 10G Ethernet port and Omada SDN management to deliver fast, stable connectivity for demanding clients and applications.
With wireless data rates of 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 5765 Mbps on 5 GHz and 5765 Mbps on 6 GHz, the EAP787 gives you a combined 12.2 Gbps for EU-specification models. Wi-Fi 7 technologies including Multi-Link Operation (MLO), 320 MHz bandwidth, 4K-QAM and Multi-RUs help improve throughput, connection stability and concurrent capacity. Note that Wi-Fi 7 features require client devices to support them as well.
Dedicated RF Scanning continuously scans the surrounding wireless frequencies without interrupting normal user data transmission, helping to detect and avoid interference. This feature requires an Omada controller (V6.0 or above).

The EAP787 can be managed in Controller mode using the Omada SDN platform, which provides centralised cloud management, or operated in Standalone mode via the Omada app or web interface. Advanced features such as Mesh and Seamless Roaming require an Omada controller.

FAQs
Can I attach the EAP directly to my modem?
No. An EAP is not a Wi-Fi router, so it cannot be connected directly to a modem to share the internet. If your network has no router, you will still need one.
Can I connect the EAP to a non-TP-Link router?
Yes. The EAP is an access point and can be connected to any router to improve wireless coverage.
Do I need an Omada Controller to set up my EAP?
Generally, you can configure each EAP individually for basic functionality without a controller. However, advanced features such as Mesh, Reboot Schedule and Fast Roaming require an Omada Controller.
How can I set up the EAP in Standalone mode?
In Standalone mode you can configure and manage your EAP via the Omada app or a web browser, and each EAP has its own management page.
Does the EAP support Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 6 devices?
The EAP787 is certified for Wi-Fi 7, Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, and supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be standards.
