What is Pre-Order / Special Order

We are just not quite the same as many of the other online stores.  I know it is easy to say that, but we just aren't.

The Tech Geeks, under their parent company Twelve Times (Worldwide) Pty Ltd trade in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

This allows us to purchase stock from suppliers from locations where they have it available.    We are then able to import those products directly, along with providing localised Warranty and Replacement as required.

We only list items that we know have been, or are about to be released to us and since we purchase only in small batches these are often flown in on short time frames.

We list on each product our expected shipments and ones that we have already sent out to customers.   Please use these dates as a guideline as we always suggest 14-21 days just to allow for air freight or customs hold ups.

  • Datasheets and Guides

How many alarm sensors can be connected to the Alarm Hub?

You can connect up to 32 supervised EOLR inputs to the Alarm Hub, including door contacts, motion sensors, smoke detectors, and other alarm devices.

Can the Alarm Hub be removed from the Alarm Hub Kit enclosure?

No. The Alarm Hub cannot be removed from the enclosure.

Does the Alarm Hub support tamper detection?

Yes. The Alarm Hub includes a built-in Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor that detects when the enclosure door is opened. This provides real-time tamper alerts and adds an extra layer of protection to your system.

Can the Alarm Hub connect to wireless sensors?

Yes. Although the Alarm Hub is designed for wired sensors, it has a PoE+ output designed to power a SuperLink Gateway which connects to wireless alarm devices. The SuperLink Gateway can also be conveniently mounted on the Alarm Hub Kit enclosure door.

How is the Alarm Hub powered?

The Alarm Hub is powered via PoE++ or PoE+++ (802.3bt). When powered via PoE++, the max combined power output for auxiliary devices is reduced.

How does the SLA backup battery interface work?

When PoE+++ input is available, it powers the Alarm Hub and charges the SLA battery. If PoE+++ input is lost, the SLA battery automatically takes over to keep the Alarm Hub running.

How long can the Alarm Hub last on battery power?

A 12 V 9 Ah SLA battery can provide up to 6 hours in standby mode and up to 4 hours in active mode during power outages. The exact runtime using battery power will depend on the number of sensors and devices powered by Alarm Hub.

Does the Alarm Hub support EOL resistors?

Yes. The Alarm Hub supports EOL (End of Line) resistors to supervise the wiring between the Alarm Hub and sensors. Without an EOL resistor, the system can only detect if a circuit is open or closed. With an EOL resistor, the Alarm Hub can detect if a wire has been cut or short-circuited by an intruder.

The Alarm Hub supports multiple resistor values (1 kΩ, 2.2 kΩ, 3.3 kΩ, 3.9 kΩ, 4.7 kΩ, 5.6 kΩ), and 1kΩ resistors are included in the Alarm Hub package.

Can I use DEOL on the Alarm Hub to detect both wire cuts and short circuits?

Yes. Use the Protect Application to easily toggle between SEOL and DEOL modes for any of the 32 zones.

  • SEOL (Single): Monitors for wire cuts.
  • DEOL (Double): Provides maximum security. It uses two resistors to distinguish between a "Real Alarm" and a "Wiring Tamper" (short circuit) on the same zone.
