Description

The WatchGuard WG8602 802.3at PoE+ Injector with AC cord (AU) is the official WatchGuard power over Ethernet injector for powering WatchGuard Wi-Fi access points through an existing Ethernet connection. Supplied with an Australian-region AC cord, the WG8602 means you do not need to position your access point near a power outlet, making access point deployment simpler and tidier.

This PoE+ injector complies with IEEE 802.3at/af PoE specifications and delivers up to 30W of output power, so it can supply the PoE+ (802.3at) power that WatchGuard's current access points need to operate at full capability. It is an ideal solution wherever a PoE+ switch is not available on the network.

Key Features

  • IEEE 802.3at/af compliant PoE+ injector
  • Up to 30W maximum output power
  • AC input voltage range of 100-240VAC (0.8A maximum input current at 100VAC)
  • LAN port: RJ-45 for 10/100/1000 Mbps data
  • PoE port: RJ-45 for 10/100/1000 Mbps data and power
  • Supplied with an AU AC power cord (SKU WG8602)
  • Lets you power your access point over existing Ethernet cabling, removing the need for a nearby power outlet

Ideal for: IT administrators, network integrators and businesses deploying WatchGuard Wi-Fi access points in Australia where PoE+ switch ports are unavailable or limited.

Compatible Products

The WG8602 is listed by WatchGuard as an optional Ethernet power injector in the hardware guides for WatchGuard access points, including the AP330, AP430CR, AP432, AP327X, AP332CR and AP325. Always check the hardware guide for your specific access point model.

Installation at a Glance

Plug the injector into an AC power source, connect an Ethernet cable from your network backbone (such as a PoE-capable router, switch or hub) to the LAN connector, then connect a second Ethernet cable from the PoE connector to the LAN (PoE+) interface on the access point.

Important: Do not use PoE adapters that are not IEEE 802.3at/af compliant, as they may damage your device. Some WatchGuard access points, such as the AP327X, support PoE+ (802.3at) only, and powering them with 802.3af PoE may result in limited functionality and device instability.
