What is the Wave-AP-Gen2 used for?
It is a 60 GHz and 5 GHz point-to-multipoint base station operating as a PtMP access point in bridge mode. It offers 90-degree sectoral coverage, supports up to 31 clients and delivers 2.7 Gbps symmetrical speed.
How far can it reach, and which devices can it connect to?
Range depends on the client device: up to 6 km to a Wave Pro or Wave Long-Range, up to 4 km to a Wave Nano, and up to 0.9 km to a Wave Pico.
What ports does it have?
It has one 2.5 GbE RJ45 port and one 10G SFP+ port. The Ethernet LED flashes white for Ethernet traffic and flashing blue for SFP+ traffic.
How is it powered?
It is powered over passive PoE (4-pair or 2-pair, 44–54V DC only) and draws up to 24W maximum. A 48V DC, 0.65A 2.5 GbE PoE adapter is included.
Is it suitable for outdoor installation?
Yes. It has an IPX6 weatherproof rating, a UV-stabilised polycarbonate and aluminium alloy enclosure, and an operating range of -40 to 60° C. It mounts on poles from 25.4 to 60 mm in diameter.
