Ordering - What You Need To Know
When you order a Sophos license from us please make sure you include the license number or current hardware appliance serial number. Licenses generally take around 24 - 36 working hours to be issued after order.
In some instances you may find we show out of stock for certain hardware models. This is fairly normal and reflects the fact, often that we have to place what is called a back to back order. When you order with us, we order with Sophos and the unit is shipped in to the country. Please allow around 10 working days where we show as out of stock.
Description
Description
Upgrade your wired network with the D-Link DMS-1024 24-Port Multi-Gigabit Desktop Switch. This unmanaged 2.5G Ethernet switch connects up to 24 network devices at speeds of up to 2.5Gbps in full-duplex mode, helping to remove the bottlenecks that standard Gigabit networking can create. Simply plug in and go: the DMS-1024 (SKU: DMS-1024) needs no configuration, making it a straightforward way to add high-speed multi-gigabit connectivity to your home office, small office or workgroup.
2.5G Ethernet offers 2.5 times the bandwidth of Gigabit without needing new cabling, which suits Wi-Fi 6 access points, 4K/8K streaming, HD surveillance, AR/VR gaming and NAS storage. Auto-sensing ports also connect Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit and 2.5 Gigabit devices, so your existing equipment keeps working.
Key Features
- Twenty-four 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports (2.5GBASE-T) for high-performance networking
- 120Gbps switching capacity
- 32K MAC address table
- Plug-and-play installation with no configuration required
- Auto-negotiating ports for 10/100Mbps, 1G and 2.5G devices
- Auto MDI/MDI-X crossover on all ports, so no crossover cables are needed
- IGMP snooping to manage multicast traffic and help prevent network flooding
- IEEE 802.1p Quality of Service (QoS) to prioritise time-sensitive traffic such as voice and video
- IEEE 802.3x flow control to help minimise dropped packets
- IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet and link status detection to reduce power consumption and running costs
- Durable metal housing with an internal power supply
- 2 x Smart Fans for efficient cooling and low-noise operation
- Per-port LED indicators to show link status at a glance
Smarter Traffic Handling
IGMP snooping directs multicast traffic only to the devices that need it, which reduces bandwidth congestion and improves video streaming and VoIP performance. 802.1p QoS classifies traffic into eight priority levels, helping deliver smoother video streaming and clearer voice and video calls.
Energy-Efficient Design
Energy-Efficient Ethernet lowers power use when network utilisation is low, while link status detection automatically powers down ports with no active link.
Ideal for: home offices, SOHO environments, small workgroups and anyone upgrading to Wi-Fi 6 access points, NAS devices, surveillance cameras or 4K/8K streaming who needs affordable, plug-and-play multi-gigabit connectivity.
Compatible Products
Network devices
Works with Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit and 2.5 Gigabit devices using standard twisted-pair Ethernet cables, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, Wi-Fi 6 access points and NAS devices.
FAQs
Is the DMS-1024 a managed switch?
No. It is an unmanaged plug-and-play switch, so you can connect your devices and start using it without any configuration.
Will it work with my existing Gigabit devices?
Yes. The ports auto-negotiate to detect each device's speed, so Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit and 2.5 Gigabit devices can all connect.
Do I need special cables?
No. All ports support automatic MDI/MDIX crossover, so regular straight-through twisted-pair Ethernet cables can be used.
Does it support Quality of Service?
Yes. It supports IEEE 802.1p QoS with eight priority levels to help prioritise important traffic such as voice and video.
Does it help reduce power consumption?
Yes. It supports IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet and link status detection, which reduce power use during low utilisation and when ports have no link.
