What is Pre-Order / Special Order

We are just not quite the same as many of the other online stores.  I know it is easy to say that, but we just aren't.

The Tech Geeks, under their parent company Twelve Times (Worldwide) Pty Ltd trade in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

This allows us to purchase stock from suppliers from locations where they have it available.    We are then able to import those products directly, along with providing localised Warranty and Replacement as required.

We only list items that we know have been, or are about to be released to us and since we purchase only in small batches these are often flown in on short time frames.

We list on each product our expected shipments and ones that we have already sent out to customers.   Please use these dates as a guideline as we always suggest 14-21 days just to allow for air freight or customs hold ups.

What power input does the Relay support?

 

The Relay supports a wide input voltage range from 12 V to 48 V DC, allowing it to be powered by common security system power supplies, battery systems, or industrial DC sources.

 

What mounting options are supported by the Relay?

 

The Relay supports DIN rail mounting and wall mounting using screws or adhesive, allowing flexible installation inside electrical cabinets, control panels, or directly on flat surfaces near connected devices.

 

How many inputs and outputs does the Relay have?

 

The Relay includes:

  • 2 dry contact inputs for monitoring external devices or sensors
  • 2 relay outputs for switching connected equipment

Each input and output can be configured independently in UniFi Protect.

 

How are the relay outputs controlled?

 

The relay outputs can be directly linked to input actions or controlled through UniFi Protect using Alarm Manager.  

 

What types of devices can be connected to the Relay outputs?

 

The relay outputs support dry contact switching, making them compatible with many automation and security devices, including:

  • Alarm sirens
  • Third-party doorbell chimes
  • Garage door controllers
  • Lighting control systems
  • Water shutoff valves

Always verify the electrical requirements of the connected device.

 

What types of loads are supported by the relay outputs?

 

The relay outputs support switching a wide range of electrical loads commonly used in automation and security systems, including:

  • Resistive loads, such as incandescent lights, heaters, or other purely resistive devices
  • Capacitive loads, such as electronic equipment or devices with capacitor banks
  • Inductive loads, such as transformers, fans, motors, and appliances

When switching inductive loads, it is recommended to use appropriate suppression components, such as an RC snubber, to reduce electrical noise and protect the relay contacts.

 

What types of signals can the inputs detect?

 

The inputs are designed for dry contact signals and can monitor devices such as:

  • Door or window contacts
  • Motion detectors
  • Light switches
  • Push buttons
  • Feedback contacts on connected devices
  • Other automation sensors
